We
work together
In a state of grace.
Our strengths are
The gifts we bring.
Our weaknesses are strengths too.
My weakness invites
Your infusion of wisdom,
As yours does mine.
May
we see genius
And honour it;
May we see stress
And embrace it;
May we see edges,
And fold them in
With truthful acknowledging
And caring resourcefulness.
When
it is time
May we gracefully depart,
Knowing we have left the world
A better place
Because of us.
May we individually bring
Hope to new ventures
To new relationships
Built on graceful memories
Of what is now.

Pebbles falling
into the lake.
Ripples appearing
not knowing
where they go.
But
to act
to touch
to flow.
Your ripples
cleanse me
move me
caress me.
You are my pebble.
The lake we share.
For as pebbles
gather together,
water arises
bathing us All.

so there
is
Life is
birth,
change,
death,
so there is
Grace
home leaving,
home coming,
home making,
so there is
Compassion
why,
how,
now,
so there is
Wisdom
fields,
deserts,
gardens,
so there is
Joy
one,
many,
all,
so there is
Beauty
known,
unknown,
dreams,
so there is
Courage
Life is
so there is
Grace

Grace
and the Great Turning
—By Joanna Macy, Buddhist scholar and activist
Excerpted from The Tao of Democracy by Tom Atlee (www.co-intelligence.org),
who excerpted it from an interview with YES! Magazine (www.futurenet.org)
When you act
on behalf
of something greater than yourself,
you begin
to feel it acting through you
with a power that is greater than your own.
This is grace.
Today, as we
take risks
for the sake of something greater
than our separate, individual lives,
we are feeling graced
by other beings and by Earth itself.
Those with whom
and on whose behalf we act
give us strength
and eloquence
and staying power
we didn’t know we had.
We just need
to practice knowing that
and remembering that we are sustained
by each other
in the web of life.
Our true power
comes as a gift, like grace,
because in truth it is sustained by others.
If we practice drawing on the wisdom and beauty
and strengths
of our fellow humans
and our fellow species
we can go into any situation
and trust
that the courage and intelligence required
will be supplied.
By Our
Own Fear
—Song by The Wyrd Sisters
Inside the Dreaming CD
I left
And I left it all behind
I left you
I know
That I never really, really let you go
But oh I’ve been trying
Back then
We could not of understood
The way love worked then
We had only our two hearts to
Judge our love by
And oh how we judged it then
As we struck
out into foreign places
Tried ourselves against the masses
Judged our lives by others glances
And by our own fears
Since then
I’ve been looking long and hard
To find the answers
To the questions we could never dare
To ask then
How I
wish we had asked them
As we struck
out into foreign places
Tried ourselves against the masses
Judged our lives by others glances
And by our own fear
By our own fear
We were walking down
A path of darkness
By our own fear
We abandoned those we loved
By our own fear
We left the road that led to freedom
By our own fear
I left
And I left it all behind
I left my heart there
And I’ll never get it back
Till I face you
And the love we left behind
We left our hearts there
And we’ll never get them back
Until we strike
out into foreign places
Try ourselves against the masses
Don’t judge our lives
By others glances
And by our own fear
Until we strike
into foreign places
Try ourselves against the masses
Don’t judge our lives
By others glances
Or by our own fear
By our own fear
I left
And I left it all behind
I left my heart there
And I’ll never get it back
Till I face you
State
of Grace
—Song by Steve Winwood
Sometimes your
life can be sidetracked, getting lost in things you don't need
But we all lose direction in a world of greed
Some people's lives end in ruin, some people's lives never start
Someone knows what you're doing deep in your heart
In the hour
of need you stood ready, looked danger right in the face
Your heart is moved by the spirit when you're living
Living in a state of grace
There's a world
never ending, sorrow and pain don't exist
We can live there together, you can't resist
Just when you
think you can't take it, dreams disappear into space
Trust in your heart, you can make it, when you're living
Living in a state of grace
There's nothing
worse than the sorrow of loved ones you have lost
You can't face tomorrow, you can't bear the cross
But just remember that darkness in this world has no place
You've got so much to give now
