“Hi,
I’m Zelle Nelson, Maureen’s partner, husband, and best friend.
I’ve been creating State of Grace Documents ever since Maureen and I
created the very first one, and I love how it’s effected every area
of my life. Along with many of you, I’ve helped to mold and shape the
State of Grace Document into what it is today. Through long talks, creating
numerous State of Grace Documents myself, and helping to write the book, I’ve
learned so much, not only about how to remain in a state of grace, but how
rewarding it is to live a graceful life. I’m fortunate enough to practice
being graceful every day with my wonderful wife, and with friends, family,
colleagues, and clients.
“Being earnest about existing gracefully with one another and holding space for one another is wonderful. But to have a tool that allows us to create a nest, or a space in which to rest and support our desire to remain in a state of grace, is truly remarkable. A nest provides a place to feel safe and warm – a place to feel at home. A nest is also a place from which we learn to fly.
“The concept of creating space that inspires our souls is a central part of who I am in the world. I’m a geographer helping people to understand how we fit as human beings in the world around us – understanding and knowing the geography of the human spirit, both our spirit and the spirits of those with whom we share our relationships and connections.
“Along with working to write the book and promote the concept of the State of Grace Document, I co-facilitate State of Grace Document workshops with Maureen and have been facilitating various conversations and workshops for several years. In my work with the State of Grace Document as well as in working in my company, Know Place Like Home (www.knowplacelikehome.com), I use Open Space Technology, World Café, and other experiential techniques to provide the space for others to learn and grow.
